The Vascular service at Leeds General Infirmary is a consultant led service that provides 24 hour emergency cover for Leeds and Mid-Yorkshire. Daycase and outpatient facilities are also provided at St James’s University Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital.
Patients are referred to the Leeds Vascular Institute Service through secondary and tertiary services; this can be through GP referrals or through another speciality within the hospital.
Our service has dedicated vascular wards and operating theatres that ensure patients under our care are treated by experienced vascular nurses and that our consultants and surgeons always have the necessary medical equipment to safeguard patients. If patients require a higher level of care that is unable to be met on vascular wards, our service has access to intensive care and high dependency beds allowing us to provide the level of care required to meet patient needs.
