Home visit audiology service
Unfortunately we can not offer a standard home visit service in Audiology. However, if you are terminally ill, house or bed bound we can arrange a home visit on a referral from your General Practitioner (GP). If you attend other hospital appointments with the help of others and/or transport, please let us know and we can arrange an appointment for you to see one of our audiologists as soon as possible.
If you are able to get to a clinic and require some support with this, please let us know as we can possibly arrange help from the British Red Cross service to help you to and from your appointments in the Hearing and Balance Centre or at one of our hearing aid repair sites.
Before a home visit can take place you must have had your ears checked and cleared of all ear wax before we attend
Please note that home visit appointments are limited and can be booked at very short notice. Therefore, we require to have a contact telephone number for you or a family member or carer to allow us to arrange a time to see you.
If you have a faulty hearing aid, it would generally be quicker for someone to book a repair appointment and attend with it for you or you can post it to us. Please ensure when posting any hearing aid/s to us that the user is identified and enclose a brief description of its fault. The British Red Cross Service could possibly help with bringing your hearing aid/s in to us for repair if it is not possible for you to get out at all. Please contact us for further information on this.
Please have a look at our common faults page or the videos posted to see if there is something you can do yourself to rectify the problem.
