Conditions and treatment
- Acute (new) pelvic pain
- Acute (new) heavy vaginal bleeding
- Painful lumps in the vulva and vagina
- Foreign objects in the vagina e.g. lost tampons
- Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
- Bartholin’s cyst and abscess
- Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
Early pregnancy care
- Pain and bleeding in early pregnancy (less than 14 weeks of pregnancy)
- Miscarriage
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Molar pregnancy
- Pregnancy of unknown location
Patients under the age of 16 with an acute gynaecological condition will normally be seen by the team at Leeds Children’s Hospital and their care will be discussed with our unit.
