The Adult Psychology service for people with HIV
The adult HIV service supports people from the age of 16+ with a diagnosis of HIV.
The clinician who specialises in this area is Dr William Vogt, Senior Clinical Psychologist.
Outpatient clinics are run at the LGI and Fielding House at St. James’s Hospital. Some inpatient work is possible on ward J20.
This service offers therapeutic intervention for individuals who are struggling in some way with their diagnosis. Difficulties that a person living with HIV may come to therapy for are:

- Decisions around medication
- Medication management
- Low mood
- Anxiety
- Disclosure
- Relationships
- HIV and pregnancy
- Transmission issues
- Medication side effects
- Memory difficulties and neurocognitive assessment
