Immunology Service
The Immunology Service provides facilities for the investigations, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of primary immunodeficiency diseases and disorders of immune dysregulation including:
- Antibody deficiency
- C1 inhibitor deficiency
- Combined immune deficiency
- Neutrophil defects
- Complement deficiency
- Hyper IgE syndromes, Wiskott Aldrich syndrome, Ataxia Telangiectasia and other primary immunodeficiencies
- Innate immune deficiencies
- Periodic fever syndromes
- Autoinflammatory disorders
- IgG4 related disease
- Allergy Services
The service provides facilities for diagnosis, treatment, support and advice for patients with a variety of allergic disorders, including:
- Airborne allergen hypersensitivity
- Food allergy
- Venom allergy
- Urticaria and Angioedema
- Anaphylaxis
- Adverse drug reactions
- Anaesthetic reactions
- Subcutaneous and sub-lingual Allergen immunotherapy (desensitisation)
- Oral challenge test
The unit undertakes joint clinics with a number of different specialties:
Rheumatology:
- Autoinflammatory disorders
- Connective Tissue diseases
- Vasculitis
Dermatology:
- Complex urticaria
- Cutaneous Vasculitis
- Autoinflammatory disorders
Respiratory:
- Complex asthma
