The Research and Innovation Curriculum has been designed and developed to complement and enhance existing training, such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP), to ensure the best research outcomes at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT). These can be used for CPD for all staff. The majority of programmes run by the LTHT RA are accredited by the CPD Accreditation service.
New starters
New Starters are required to complete the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Introduction to GCP course and the LTHT Research Induction Programme. Then they will work with their line manager to complete the LTHT Clinical Research competency framework.
Existing Staff
Existing staff are required to complete the “Learning Burst” programme as part of their Continual Professional Development requirements and also complete the competency for Clinical Research
To get started working on the studies you will be supporting, the following need to be completed:
- Complete your NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training
- Complete a one-page research CV (see Padlet resources for template)
- Complete the “Delegation of Duties” Log with the Principal Investigator
- Book on to the LTHT Research Induction Programme
- Start working on the LTHT Research Competency Framework with your Mentor / Supervisor
