Starting Monday, 10 February 2025, the walks will offer expectant mums the chance to enjoy gentle exercise, meet others, and chat with a midwife in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The walks, organised by midwives from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, will take place at 12:30pm on:
- Monday, 10 February
- Monday, 3 March
Meeting outside the entrance to the Lakeside Café (LS8 2JL), participants will take a gentle walk through the beautiful surroundings of Roundhay Park while enjoying the many benefits of exercise during pregnancy.
Midwife Anna Cockerham emphasises the importance of staying active during pregnancy:
Starting the New Year with regular, gentle movement can have such a positive impact for mums and their babies. Just 20 minutes of moderate exercise a day can help reduce the risk of pregnancy complications, boost your mood, and help manage weight gain. We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of mums-to-be to join us for these walks.
Register by emailing leedsth-tr.athenaclinic@nhs.net or simply turn up on the day. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the event may be cancelled, and registered attendees will receive an email update.
