We provide one of the most comprehensive ranges of specialist children’s hospital services in the country including cancer treatment, transplantation and congenital heart surgery. We provide services for the children of Leeds and across the Yorkshire and Humber Region and in some cases further afield. We see children in Leeds but our doctors and nurses also travel to many hospitals in the region to provide care as close to home as possible.
The specialties we offer also include children’s medicine and surgery, gastroenterology, cystic fibrosis, respiratory medicine, hepatobiliary services, renal medicine, neurosciences, paediatric critical care, neonatal services, oncology and haematology, endocrinology, rheumatology, cardiac services, allergy, immunology and infectious diseases and diabetes.
We also provide a range of therapy services including:
- physiotherapy
- occupational therapy
- speech and language therapy
- radiology
- pharmacy
- dietetics
and we work closely with the pain team and the community nursing service.
All our staff are dedicated to delivering the best possible clinical outcomes for every child, every time. Many of our clinicians are experts in their field and are involved in research and pioneering new treatment of illnesses affecting children and young people.
Just as importantly, we understand that children, young people and families need support and reassurance when they come to hospital. We try and make sure that we are a welcoming and caring place for all who need our services
We have excellent facilities for parents and families who need to stay on site with our fantastic facility, Eckersley House next to the Clarendon Wing, run in conjunction with the Sick Children’s Trust. We are supported by Leeds Hospitals Charity and a range of other amazing charities who support specific wards and departments.
