“I know it can be a dark and lonely place at times living with MND, and my hope for this centre is for you to be lifted by the light and calm of this space, by the community of support and solidarity that you will find here.” Rob Burrow CBE
The Motor Neurone Disease service is delivered by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust from Seacroft Hospital. A multi-disciplinary team is lead by Dr Agam Jung, providing care for the complex condition. The highly trained team includes wheelchair specialists, speech and language specialists, dietitians, physiotherapist and family support workers amongst others.
The Trust is currently leading a project to build the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, with support from Leeds Hospitals Charity. The new centre will be a landmark, purpose-built construction, adaptable to the changing needs of Motor Neurone Disease, providing ample space for patients, and their families and carers, to live the best quality of life possible, supported by a dedicated team.
We were devastated this year to mark the death of Rob Burrow. You can read the Trust’s response and tribute to Rob.
