What we do
Our team of occupational therapists and support workers, work with children from birth until they leave full time education, to reach their optimum level of performance in self-care, leisure, and educational tasks. Our approach is holistic, outcome focused, and graded to meet the needs of the individual child.
Thorough assessment will take into account their physical, cognitive, perceptual, social and emotional needs, to highlight their current strengths and areas for intervention and development. Specialist treatment plans are subsequently formulated with the child’s personal goals being carefully considered and implemented.
We work with children from across the region, and therefore liaise closely with local community teams to provide advice and plan supported discharge from hospital services. We will also assist in planning and facilitating transition into school and nursery settings.
Children will be seen in the most appropriate environment for their needs which may include the ward, therapy department, clinics, their home or educational setting.
