Colorectal Surgery Unit
The John Goligher Colorectal Surgery Unit is one of the largest centres for Colorectal surgery in Europe. It is a major referral centre for diseases of the small and large bowel, the rectum and anus.

We offer the broadest range of endoscopic procedures of the gastrointestinal tract.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease service
We offer two dedicated IBD (Tuesdays and Fridays) clinics at St James's University Hospital. These clinics are all consultant led and attended by specialist IBD nurses and dietitians.

Kidney (renal) transplantation
Kidney (Renal) transplants have been carried out at St. James's University Hospital since 1967. To date more than 3,000 transplants have taken place.

Liver unit
The Liver Unit is based at St James’s University Hospital and is one of the largest in the UK.

Leeds Pancreas Unit offers a wide range of intervention, surgery and specialist advice to our patients.

Department of Respiratory Medicine
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Department of Respiratory Medicine offers a wide range of services for respiratory conditions including asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis, lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, sleep apnoea, complex ventilation, and primary ciliary dyskinesia.

Allergy and clinical immunology
The service is maintained by four consultant clinical immunologists, three specialist registrars, a senior Sister, two immunology nurse specialists, four nurses, a specialist pharmacist, three medical secretaries and three clinic clerks.
