Outpatient clinics

All of our consultants hold out-patient clinics at:

Oncology Out-Patient Suites 1 and 2, Level 1, Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital

Mr De Jong, Mr Hutson and Mr Theophilou have clinics on Monday afternoons.

Mr Broadhead, Mr Nugent and Dr Thangavelu have clinics on Friday mornings.

Please note that these clinics may not be every week depending on factors such as operating theatre commitments.

The consultants also have outreach clinics around Yorkshire for patients that live outside of Leeds:

Airedale region

Currently all patients are being seen at Leeds.

Bradford region

Mr Hutson has a clinic at Bradford Royal Infirmary on Tuesday afternoons.

Calderdale region

Mr Nugent has a clinic at Calderdale Royal Hospital on Wednesday afternoons.

Harrogate region

Mr Theophilou has a clinic at Harrogate District Hospital on Wednesday afternoons.

Mid-Yorkshire region

Dr Thangavelu has a clinic at Pinderfields Hospital on Thursday afternoons.

York region

Mr Broadhead has a clinic at York Hospital on Thursday mornings.

Ward 98

You will be admitted to ward 98 which is located on level 5, Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital. It is a 24 bedded ward that cares for women with all kinds of gynaecological conditions. This includes women after routine benign (non-cancer) and cancer gynaecological surgery.

Ward J81 (High Dependency Unit)

Some patients may need to be cared for on the high dependency unit, for a short time after surgery, before being transferred back to ward J98. The HDU is located on level 2 of Bexley Wing.

Bexley Wing Patient Hotel

There is a patient hotel on the 8th floor of Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital, which is for the use of patients, free of charge. There are single and double rooms as well as single disabled rooms. All rooms have en-suite facilities, lockable safe, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge and a television. If you live far from the hospital you may wish to stay here the night before your surgery – especially if it is booked for the early morning.
