The Patient Catering Service will provide you with a nutritionally balanced menu, serving food promptly and cheerfully to meet the majority of your needs. The menus have been designed to meet the diverse needs of our patients including personal, religious and cultural preferences as well as the needs of your treatments whilst in hospital.
What we do
We provide three meals for around 2,000 patients every day – this equates to just over two million meals a year.
We source many of our food products from local businesses and suppliers. All products that we use on the menus go through a rigorous three stage assessment process before they are used:
1. We check that they meet our nutritional targets
2. We check them for quality and taste with a panel of former patients and volunteers
3. We consider the product for value for money
Nutrition and quality is a more important consideration to us than cost.
